It is earlier reported by ”Joy online” that, some ministers in the Akufo-Addo government and other government appointees have been listed as beneficiaries of GETFund scholarships, which are meant for needy but brilliant students.
Anthony General report revealed Education Minister (at the same time MP for manhyia south) Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh ,Procurement Minister and Deputy Majority Minister of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo,as well as executive secretary of the National Council of Curriculum and Assessment(NaCCA), Prince Hamidu Armah have all benefited from the scholarship scheme.
The Education Minister is allegedly listed as studying National and International Security at Harvard University receiving $12,800(GHC 64,000) for living expenses and $11,200(GHC 56,000) as tuition fees.
On JoyFM’s super morning showon monday(24-02-20|).The Director of Communication at the Ministry(of education),Ekow Vincent Asafuah said,”the law that govern scholarship does not stipulate that the scholarship should be given to only needed-but-brilliant students.But however ACT 581, sub-section 2(e) also allows the minister of Education in consultation with GetFund to promote education in the country and gives sponsorship to people to go and learn and come help this country.
According to Ekow Asafuah,his boss received the scholarship before he became Minister of Education,not after appointment, i.e 2014.
Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo is the baby-mama of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,MP for Assin Fosu. She is listed studying at Havard Kennedy School, enjoying $12,800(GHC 64,000) allowance with tuition fees of $17,004(GHC 850,020).
Dr. Prince Hamidu Armah, who is the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment(NaCCA) is listed as studying Philosophy in Education at the University of Aberdeen,Scotland. His living expenses is £38,400(GHC 268,800)and tuition fees of £33,000(GHC 231,000).
Upon hearing the Attorney General’s report, Dr. Armah has explained that he was a needy at the time that he applied and got the GetFund scholarship to study for his Doctorate degree in 2012 during the era of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).

Afia has expressed her disappointment in the ruling government and went to the extent of bashing them for their repulsive misconduct
