The founder and leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom has expressed interest in prosecuting the President when he becomes President.
Kyiri Abosom made this revelation during an interview on Election Zone on KNM TV and expressed that the President has failed to in his compact against illegal mining, popularly known as Galamsey and therefore must be held accountable for such actions which is by being prosecuted.
“When Akufo-Addo came to power, he allocated an amount of money for fighting galamsey and ensuring that all our water bodies are restored…I will sue him when I come to power to account for how well they used the money…,” he said.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo approach in dealing with the fight against galamsey was not thought through and one thing he will not do is to totally end galamsey and thereby discouraging the youth.
“I will free all the youth who were imprisoned because they were engaging in galamsey…they don’t deserve to be in prison…,” he added.
