“There is more discussion to be done on Kasoa killing since unemployment wasn’t the cause” – National Youth Authority

What has become a National discourse across the country is the killing of the 10-year-old boy, identified as Ishmael in Kasoa. While some blame it on bad content on free to air TV channels, others say it is as a result of bad influence from the society.

The Acting Director of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah has also given his view on the issue and according to him, there is more discussion to be done on the murder case since it was not linked with unemployment.

Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah insisted that, there is no correlation between what has happened and the issues of unemployment.

“Most discussion on employment issues has become butter and bread issue however, we have failed to go detail on problems facing our youths to uplift them in the society. Hence, the National Youth Authority has realized things are not put right in that way”. Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah told Nana Kwadwo Jantua on the show “Kro Yi Mu Nsem”

He continued to say that, “we can’t attribute it to unemployment.

“A 15-year-old and an 18-year-old boy should be in school. The discussion would have been different if the kids were school drop-out or had it been that their parents did not enrol them in apprenticeship. But thank God the education system had accommodated them so how did it happen”. He said.
