Titus Glover advocates for canning in schools to shape students

The Ghana Education Service(GES) has barred teachers from punishing students with canes at every level of education in the country.

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East Constituency, Hon. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has called on the GES to review their decision on ‘no canning policy’ in the various schools in the country.

His comments were on the back of the killing of a ten years old boy in Kasoa by two teenagers who were said to have planned to use him for money rituals

This was made known on Accra-based Hitz FM, Hon. Glover noted that although some teachers go overboard, canning shapes children in school and needs to be reintroduced.

“Today we do not lash children in schools. Yes, some teachers go wayward and all but caning children in schools contributes to shaping them to do the right things. He indicated that Parents should be responsible to their children – You need to be interested in the things they wear, things they say. — now you cannot even talk about somebody” he expressed.
