KNUST students ordered to leave campus by Saturday

Because of an expected attack, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has advised students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to evacuate campus by Saturday, September 18.

A gang of pupils is intending to cause disruptions at the school ahead of the next vacation, according to a statement from the regional security council.

The school’s security alert has been activated, according to the statement, and only students who are authorized to stay on campus beyond Saturday will be allowed to do so.

The declaration of the campus as a security zone in 2018 is still in effect, according to the statement.

Students at KNUST have been complaining about the excessive cost of their hostel fees for the past two months.
