Josephine Panyin Mensah, the lady imprisoned in the Western Region for alleged kidnapping, has confessed that she was neither kidnapped nor pregnant, according to police.
The Ghana Police Service revealed this in a brief statement on Friday, September 24, 2021.
“The suspect, Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, has confessed to the Police during further investigations and stated that neither was she pregnant nor ever being kidnapped. The public will be updated with further details,” police added in the statement.
Josephine Panyin Mensah, a nine-month-pregnant woman, has been in the headlines since last Thursday, when the media claimed that she was kidnapped while out on a morning stroll.
She reappeared at Axim in the Western Region a week later, without her supposed pregnancy or baby. She stated that she had given birth on the day she went missing and that her baby had been abducted by the kidnappers.
