“No salary for Government workers without Ghana card starting from Dec. 1, 2021” – Controller

The Department of the Controller and Accountant General has given notice that it will no longer pay government employees who are not registered with the National Identification Authority (NIA).

As a result, the Department has instructed government employees to register and obtain their Ghana cards by December 1, 2021.

The Department of Labor declared in a statement that it intends to harmonize its database in order to facilitate biometric and unique identification of all federal employees.

The Department claims that it will collaborate with the NIA to accomplish this. As a result, starting December 1, 2021, all government employees who do not have Ghana cards would not be paid.
